Being able to give back is a true blessing of Almighty!
The Bhale-Dino Morai Welfare Trust (BDMWT) is a tribute to the Late Haji Bhale-Dino, which his son, Mohiuddin Morai, started 18 years ago. He is running several welfare programs under the auspices of this Trust. BDMWT is serving the rural part of the state of Sindh in Pakistan, which represents 60% of the entire state of Sindh. 60% of the state suffers from poverty, deprived of education and technology, electricity, gas, clean drinking water, and deteriorating health conditions due to lack of access to the medical facilities.
The Late Haji Bhale-Dino had a belief that great things are done by a series of small initiatives taken together by the dedication and hard work of those who believe in making this world a little better for those that are under-served and poor.
This program provides a platform for those under-privileged kids who do not get a chance to have quality education and necessary skills, which is their basic right. Through this program, free tuition centers are established where the kids are taught the English language, Sindhi, and Mathematics.
BDMWT is in discussion with the World Bank to create new possibilities for providing venues to spread quality education to the rural areas of Sindh and are willing to donate their personal ancestral lands worth millions of dollars to support this cause.
Free Medical Camps, Eye Care Camps, Skin Camps, Hepatitis Camps are set up with doctors able to provide diagnosis for necessary tests and treatments which are then undertaken by BDMWT on the spot with required follow-up treatments. Due to limited, or no access to medical institutions and doctors, these camps are playing an essential role in helping people in the city of Moro and the surrounding villages by not being forced to travel to big cities like Hyderabad, Karachi, and Lahore for treatment, thus averting financial hardships on their families.
Reference to all holy scripts have stressed that feeding the poor and people in need brings innumerable blessings to those who are vested in this cause. The most pressing problem in the rural communities in Sindh is to find the means to provide basic food and necessities for their families. BDMWT provides monthly groceries to over 200 families each month to help poor families make ends meet. Due to the recent flood disaster in Pakistan, the frequency of these monthly essential food distributions has been increased to 800 families. Considering the current prices of commodities in Pakistan, it is like a drop in the ocean but no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. The families who are supported by BDMWT are assessed to ensure that they have no alternative means of food sustenance for their families (includes widows, disabled, elderly, and orphans).
This program is about helping unemployed people to start their own small business and to earn their own independent income by providing them the tools they need (free sewing machines to ladies and rolling fruit carts to men) This allows these people to independently earn their livelihood without relying on charities and donations.
To deal with the educational challenges in rural areas of Sindh, especially for women, BDMWT has undertaken many initiatives such as partnering with the G.N Morai Foundation, and have adopted many successful projects over the years. Some of them are highlighted below:
